Preparing for your Makeup Trial

Make sure you have enough time.

Most trials take an hour and a half to two hours. Planning accordingly will ensure that you’ll get the most out of your makeup appointment.

Come to the trial with your Pinterest ready, scrap book and/or camera phone.

It is helpful to do a little homework beforehand to provide your artist with some inspiration photos. These images will most effectively communicate what you want and save a lot of time.

Come with similar accessories and an outfit.

Please carry along all the accessories that you will wear on your neck and above (tiara, veil, earrings, necklace and other accessories). It is also a great idea to wear a white top that has neckline similar to that of your wedding dress.

If possible, come with a freshly cleansed, exfoliated, and moisturized face.

On the night before, use a gentle exfoliant on your skin and lips. The smoother your skin, the better your makeup. It can make all the difference with your makeup application. Sometimes makeup can feel a little heavier or look uneven if you still have lingering traces of makeup or residue.

Waxing

Ensure your facial waxing ( ie: brow and lip) has been done approximately a week prior. If you do it the day of or the day before for example, sometimes, the makeup will not stick well to the waxed areas because the skin is almost too silky. Also, when you are freshly waxed it will give you a better idea as to what you will look like for the actual day of your wedding.
